Year 2015 will be an especially exciting year with the celebration of Singapore’s 50 years of independence. Science and technology has been intricately tied to the growth and development of Singapore. In line with this, the 5th Molecular Materials Meeting (M3) 2015 will be the signature event fronting a series of science- and technology-centric events held in conjunction with this significant milestone. With the theme "The Next 50 Years in Materials Research", this conference will focus on the latest developments and discuss the future of the most promising areas in molecular materials.
With distinguished speakers and global scientific leaders across 6 parallel sessions sharing the latest developments in nanotechnology, intelligent bio-mimetic materials and surfaces, sustainable materials, metamaterials and more, the 5th M3 promises to bring to Singapore international experts across different specialties in physics, chemistry and biology.
Our plenary speakers include:
- Prof. Paul Alivisatos, University of California-Berkeley, USA
- Prof. Bao Zhenan, Stanford University, USA
- Prof. Moungi Bawendi, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA
- Prof. Timothy Swager, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA
- Prof. Freddy Boey, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore
- Prof. Zhao Dongyuan, Fudan University, China
On top of a strong academic presence, the 5th M3 2015 will comprise an Industry Fair and sessions featuring prominent policymakers and industry participants presenting their perspective on research and development. The participation of public and private institutions in the 5th M3 highlights the symbiotic relationship between scientific research innovation and economic development. This is particularly important in Singapore, as has been demonstrated in other leading economies around the world, where strategic public-private partnerships and industrially-driven R&D have played an increasing role in the advancement of science and technology with visible socio-economic impact.
The conference will be held from 03 - 05 August 2015.
The topics covered include:
1) Sustainable Materials
2) Next-generation Materials
3) Hybrid Materials
4) Intelligent Materials
5) Materials for Consumer Care, Lifestyle & Wellness
6) Materials for Sensing
7) Materials Development and Partnerships
