This conference brought together leading scientists from across the world to share scientific developments in renewable energy generation and storage.
The themes for this conference were:
Solar Fuels and molecular catalysis
Photovoltaics
Biofuels
Battery technology/energy storage
Fuel cells
Brazil is considered to have the world's first sustainable biofuels economy. Renewable energy accounted for more than 85.4% of the domestically produced electricity used in Brazil, according to preliminary data from the 2009 National Energy Balance, conducted by the Energy Research Corporation (EPE).
There were two poster prizes awarded at ISACS17 sponsored by ¾ÅÖÝÓ°Ôº World and Chemical Science. Tjey were won by the following posters:
Kinetics of water and methanol oxidation on α-Fe2O3 photoanodes
Mesa, Camilo A.; Pendlebury, Stephanie R.; Pastor, Ernest; Francas, Laia; Ma, Yimeng; Le Formal,
Florian; Kafizas, Andreas; Grätzel, Michael; Durrant, James R
