Introduction
If you’re interested in taking your business to a new level, or in a different direction, a chance to make a new connection could be your next step.

We’ve joined forces with the North East Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC) to create an opportunity for chemical science organisations of all sizes, from across the north east and beyond, to meet and network with potential clients and collaborators.

The day’s focus is the value of collaboration, and there will be talks, presentations and one-to-one discussions on this theme, including a keynote speech by innovation expert Professor Roy Sandbach.

9:30 – 9:40: Welcome – How we collaborate and help collaboration (Steve Pleasance, Industry Manager, ¾ÅÖÝÓ°Ôº)
9:40 – 10:00: Keynote – Collaboration between big and small companies (Roy Sandbach, North East Local Enterprise Partnership)
10:00 – 12:30: Presentations from companies including AkzoNobel, Chemoxy and High Force Research; networking
12:30 – 13:15: Lunch and networking
13:15 – 15:00: One-to-one meetings (15 minute meetings with other delegates available to book online in advance)
15:00: Close

About NEPIC

NEPIC, the North East Process Industry Cluster, is a membership organisation that represents the broad range of inter-related chemistry-using industries in North East England. Formed in 2005, the Cluster works with its 700+ participating member companies to provide a more collaborative environment and ultimately support the long-term sustainable growth of the sector.

A not-for-profit organisation and led by industry, NEPIC’s activities and interactions include investment growth; skills & education; innovation; communications & marketing; supply chain development; improved connectivity; SME participation growth & increased international awareness.

Speaker information

Keynote speaker: Roy Sandbach, North East Local Enterprise Partnership (NELEP)

Roy is currently leading the North East Local Enterprise Partnership innovation strategy development. Roy was, until late 2012, R&D Research Fellow with the Proctor & Gamble, focused on global innovation management, notably in emerging economies. He has patents on several new-to-the-world products. One of these is a $100m business in the United States.

Roy holds a number of honorary positions at Newcastle University, Newcastle University Business School, Northumbria University, Cranfield University and the Central St Martin’s College of Art & Design, London. He is also a non-executive director of Arnia, a science-driven start-up and non-executive director of NCFE, the national vocational awarding body.
