Huntly born author George MacDonald is celebrating the 200th anniversary of his birth this year.
Known as, 鈥淭he father of fantasy fiction鈥�, he inspired and encouraged such well known writers as Lewis Carroll, C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkein.
He studied at Aberdeen University and graduated in chemistry.
There will be a Guided Walk around Huntly, explaining what the town was like in George MacDonald鈥檚 time, starting from The Square at 10.30am
followed by lunch in The Bank Restaurant at 1pm.
