This is a ChemNet event for students aged 16-18. Hear the story of how a development in ¾ÅÖÝÓ°Ôº in the 1960s led to a disease-fighting drug that now makes annual sales of $800 million, by Warner Chilcott, a multi Billion $ company founded in Northern Ireland. Dr Jim McIlroy will outline the discovery and development of the compound Mesalamine, and the innovations that turned it into a treatment for a serious health condition.
